How Earth Was Made
A 3D short film in six chapters about how our planet was made, each ending with a short How we know moment that shows the real evidence. A cloud of gas and dust collapses into the young Sun and a spinning disk. Dust grows into pebbles, boulders, and small worlds, and the ice line divides rocky planets from giants. Earth grows as a ball of molten rock, a planet about the size of Mars strikes it, and the Moon gathers from a ring of rock. Then Earth is opened up to show its layers at true scale, with earthquake waves calculated from a published Earth model, and the film ends on Earth today. The evidence includes a real telescope photo of a young star’s disk (ALMA), the age of meteorites, Moon rocks, and earthquake waves. Personal, creator, and public display licenses. From $25.
