Earth in Motion

A 3D short film about why the ground moves. From space, gold lines appear where Earth’s plates meet, and arrows show how each plate moves. Then every earthquake of magnitude 7 or more since 1900 lights up on the globe, year by year, from real United States Geological Survey records. The camera dives beneath Japan to show a plate sinking into the mantle, with real earthquake positions tracing it down, and watches India push up the Himalaya. It ends with what scientists can and cannot predict. Every line is on screen; a narrated edition with music follows. Personal, creator, and public display licenses. From $25.
